Dentures have been used for centuries to restore smiles, helping people regain the ability to eat, speak and smile comfortably.

Modern dentures are far more advanced than those of the past, designed to fit naturally and provide both comfort and functionality. At Westbridge Dental Practice, we carefully create dentures that are tailored to you, so they look natural and feel comfortable in everyday life.

What should I expect when getting dentures?

Your journey towards new dentures begins with an initial consultation. During this appointment, we’ll discuss your needs, assess your oral health, and determine which type of dentures is most suitable – complete dentures for replacing all teeth, or partial dentures when only some teeth are missing.

Once agreed, we’ll take precise impressions of your mouth. These allow the dental laboratory to create dentures that match your natural bite, facial shape, and gum line. You’ll also have the opportunity to choose a tooth shade that blends with your natural teeth or gives your smile a brighter look.

When your dentures are ready, we’ll invite you back for a fitting appointment. During this stage, we’ll check the fit, comfort, and appearance. Any adjustments needed will be carried out to ensure you leave with dentures that feel as natural as possible. Follow-up appointments may also be arranged to make sure you are adjusting well.

Why consider dentures?

· Natural appearance: Modern dentures are designed to look realistic, blending seamlessly with your smile.

· Comfortable fit: Tailored to your individual mouth shape for a more secure and comfortable feel.

· Improved confidence: Replacing missing teeth can make eating, speaking and smiling much easier.

· Support for facial structure: Dentures can help maintain the natural shape of your face, preventing a “sunken” appearance.

· Simple maintenance: Dentures are easy to care for with regular cleaning and good oral hygiene.

Caring for your dentures

Looking after your dentures is straightforward. They should be cleaned daily with a soft brush and rinsed after meals. It’s also important to remove them at night to give your gums a rest. Regular dental check-ups at Westbridge Dental Practice will help ensure your dentures remain in good condition and your oral health is maintained.
